On 20th December 2006, during the meeting of managerial staff Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, organized on the occasion of forthcoming Christmas Eve and New Year, attended by Ms Marzenna Drab, Vice Governor of Kujawy-Pomorze Province, there were announced the results of competition Employee of Year 2006.  Madam Vice Governor awarded three employees with the Crosses of Merit, and Wojciech B. Sobieszak handed over to the Fire Brigade a certain number of action-uniforms, and at the same time he became … a fireman, himself.

During the days of 6th – 8th December, at the Sofitel Hotel in Wrocław, there was organised the meeting of directors managing the markets belonging to the structure of CP Central Europe, namely the Czech, Estonian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak, and Hungarian markets. During the meeting there were recapitulated the activities of Cereal Partners in the Region in the course of year 2006. The presentation of plans for year 2007 took a considerable part of said meeting.

Anna Streżyńska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Building and Transport, President of the Electronic Communication Office, was an honorary guest of the Toruń Lodge of Business Center Club on 4 December 2006.“Madame Minister has chopped off the head of telecommunication monopoly hydra in Poland, being a star in the firmament of ministerial sky of the present coalition”  -  in such words the guest was introduced by Wojciech B. Sobieszak, Chancellor of the Toruń Lodge BCC, who chaired the meeting.

During the latest ceremonial session of the Toruń Town Council of its fourth term, there was signed the declaration on Toruń’s competing for the title of European Capital of Culture in year 2016. The Declaration was signed by 26 persons, including among others: Józef Jaworski – Chairman of the Toruń Town Council, and Michał Zaleski – Mayor of Toruń. On behalf of the Business Center Club, the Declaration was signed by Wojciech B. Sobieszak, Chancellor of the Toruń Lodge BCC, President CPP Toruń-Pacific.

Nestlé Cookie Crisp received the European Medal 2006-10-23

Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President CPP Toruń-Pacific, received the European Medal for Nestlé Cookie Crisp – the breakfast cereal flakes of unique shape and taste of small cakes with pieces of chocolate. The breakfast flakes of Nestlé Cookie Crisp, present on the Polish market since April 2005 and manufactured in Toruń, are a product of the European standard, like 100 other products which received on Monday (23 October 2006) the European Medal.

A long-standing president of the Energy Company S.A. in Toruń (later of the ENERGA Energy Concern S.A. Branch in Toruń) was rewarded by Michał Zaleski, Mayor of Toruń, with the Thorunium  Honorary Medal, that is bestowed on the persons who rendered particularly great services to the city. It happened during a meeting of the Toruń Lodge of Business Center Club, at which the words of goodbye were addressed to Roman Kuczkowski, going into retirement. Not missing at the meeting were Mr Kuczkowski’s faithful friends led by the Members of Parliament as well as Waldemar Achramowicz, Speaker of the Kujawy-Pomerania Provincial Parliament.

Sobieszak, President of Board CPP Toruń-Pacific, during a special meeting thanked the employees who have put particularly a lot of energy and patience aimed at making the system stabilised and “tame”.

The first post-holidays meeting of the Toruń Lodge of the Business Center Club was going on in a freezing atmosphere. It was so because that meeting was held on the artificial ice rink where the invited guests and the Club members were getting to know the rules of curling. The meeting was hosted by the firm of Mentor S.A., an insurance broker, which has constructed an artificial ice rink inside the halls situated in Chełmińska Street in Toruń. Beside the BCC members, attending the meeting were also, among others, the following persons: Antoni Mężydło and Jan Wyrowiński – Members of Parliament, Waldemar Achramowicz – Speaker of the Kujawy-Pomerania Provicial Parliament, and Michał Zaleski – Mayor of Toruń.

In July, there passed twenty years from the day when Wojciech Sobieszak had been appointed to the position of Acting Director of the Enterprise of Potato Industry in Toruń, which after its privatisation was transformed into the company of Toruń-Pacific. Wojciech Sobieszak had been connected with said Enterprise of Potato Industry from the year 1976.

Wojciech B. Sobieszak and the firm CPP Toruń-Pacific managed by him received on Saturday, 24th June 2006, during the Great Summer Gala of the Business Center Club, the 4th Diamond to the Golden Statuette “Leader of Polish Business”. This fact means that the company in the course of consecutive years, since the moment of winning the Golden Statuette “Leader of Polish Business”, has maintained very good financial results and was competitive in its branch of business. The Diamonds were handed over by Grzegorz Woźniak, the Minister of Economy. The Diamond awarded to CPP Toruń-Pacific was received by Barbara Naziębło – Vice President of Board, on behalf of Wojciech Sobieszak, the company President.

On 21st June, Ian Friendly, President of the company Cereal Partners Worldwide manufacturing breakfast cereal flakes, handed over to Lech Wałęsa a donation (amounting to 20’000 PLN) for the reconstruction of St Catherine’s church in Gdańsk. An opportunity to do that was the meeting of President Lech Wałęsa, who is member of the Church’s Reconstruction Honorary Committee, with the Board of Directors of the group Cereal Partners Worldwide. During the days of 21st – 23rd  June 2006, there was held in Gdańsk – for the second time in Poland -  a meeting away-from-home of the Board of Directors Cereal Partners Worldwide group. The first such a meeting in Poland was held in the year 2001 in the towns of Warsaw and Toruń.

On the announced by the “Manager Magazin” ranking list of the 100 most effective Polish firms, Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, a manufacturer of the Nestlé breakfast cereal flakes, was on the second position among the industrial firms. On the general ranking list, taking into account also the trade and services, Pacific was on the 12th position.

Although instead of the Minister - Jerzy Polaczek, there came to Toruń Piotr Stomma, Deputy Minister for Transport, to take part in a meeting with businessmen in the Toruń Lodge of BCC, the atmosphere was in fact quite hot  -  as there were discussed the issues of crucial importance to Toruń, namely the construction of A1 motorway and new road bridge across the Vistula River.

Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President of Board CPP Toruń-Pacific, received (on 13th April 2006) from the hands of Professor Piotr Klugowski, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicholas Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK), a commemorative medal struck on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Faculty’s tradition, with many thanks for the long-standing support of the company in aid of students of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
