Sobieszak, long-time CEO of Cereal Partners Toru\u0144-Pacific, and Professor Andrzej Kossakowski from the Institute of Physics at Nicolaus Copernicus University unveiled their Katarzynki medals on Toru\u0144&#8217;s Gingerbread Walk of Fame. Both distinguished Toru\u0144 gentlemen joined the ranks of distinguished individuals who have been honored in the walk in front of Artus Court since 2003.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wojciech B. Sobieszak served as CEO of Cereal Partners Toru\u0144-Pacific until 2019. He became the director of the Potato Industry Enterprise (PPZ) in Toru\u0144 in 1987. He led the company during the privatization process, during which PPZ transformed into Toru\u0144-Pacific \u2013 today the largest breakfast cereal producer in this part of Europe. Since 1994, the company has been owned by Nestl\u00e9 S.A. and General Mills, which established Cereal Partners Worldwide. Since 2004, Wojciech Sobieszak has also served as Managing Director of the Cereal Partners Central Europe group within CPW. The company he manages, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, is known in Toru\u0144 as a patron of sports and culture.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Andrzej Kossakowski is a lecturer at the Institute of Physics of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144. Born in 1938 in Lviv, he has been associated with the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toru\u0144 from the beginning of his career, where he studied physics from 1955 to 1960, defended his doctoral thesis in 1966, completed his habilitation in 1972, and was awarded the title of associate professor in 1979. He has lectured at numerous universities abroad, including Stuttgart, Milan, Austin, Texas, Essen, Leuven, Santiago de Chile, Naples, and Tokyo. Professor Kossakowski&#8217;s scientific achievements include works on laser theory and a series of papers on quantum entanglement. One of his main research topics is the quantum theory of open systems, and for his contributions to this field, he was awarded the Foundation for Polish Science Prize in the field of mathematical, physical, and engineering sciences in 2019. This is the highest scientific distinction in Poland, often called the &#8220;Polish Noble Prize.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wojciech B.
