At the beginning of September, Monika Michniak took over the reins of Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific (CPP), one of the region’s largest employers and the producer of Nestlé breakfast cereals. The previous CEO, Aleksander Wasilewski, who had headed the company since 2020, moved to Warsaw and is now leading the management board of Nestlé Polska S.A.
Monika Michniak is a native of Toruń and a graduate of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She also holds an Executive MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK. She has been associated with Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, also known as “Płatki,” since 1999. For the past 10 years, she has managed foreign markets in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, and since 2022, she has headed the Southeastern Europe cluster (the Balkans, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine) within the Cereal Partners Worldwide group, of which the Toruń-based company has been a part since 1994.
She returns to Toruń as an experienced manager in managing diverse teams and markets with distinct characteristics. She emphasizes her belief in the continued development of the breakfast cereal and bar category. Her priority is to lead Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, which has production plants in Toruń and Lubicz, as well as a Distribution Center in Grębocin, and employs over 900 people, to become an “employer of choice.” The CEO intends to focus on ensuring CPP is perceived as a good place to work by current employees, as well as by those entering the job market.
Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific is one of the largest companies in the Pomerania and Kuyavia regions, listed among the largest Polish companies, and one of the largest food exporters in Poland. Nestlé breakfast cereals and cereal bars, manufactured in Toruń and Lubicz, are sold in 65 countries worldwide. The company has been part of CPW (Cereal Partners Worldwide) for 30 years. Its shareholders are Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, and General Mills Inc., an American food manufacturer, including breakfast cereals. Wojciech B. Sobieszak, CEO of the company from 1990 to 2019, chairs the CPP supervisory board.
