On October 6, 2025, the ceremonial inauguration of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management took place in the Aula of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The event gathered numerous representatives of academia, students, and invited guests from the business community, including Wojciech B. Sobieszak, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, who also chairs the Business Council – an advisory body operating at the Faculty.
The focal point of the ceremony was the matriculation of first-year students, over one thousand of whom officially joined the academic community of Nicolaus Copernicus University. On behalf of the faculty authorities, Prof. Marlena Ciechan-Kujawa, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management, welcomed the new students, emphasizing the importance of economic education in a rapidly changing world and the role of young people in shaping the future of the economy.
Among those invited to the inauguration, who addressed the first-year students, was Wojciech B. Sobieszak, chairman of the Faculty’s Business Council. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of cooperation between the university and the private sector, pointing to the need to develop practical skills and an innovative approach to management.
The inauguration was not only an opportunity to welcome new students but also a moment of reflection on the challenges facing the contemporary academic and economic worlds. The Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at Nicolaus Copernicus University continues its mission of educating future leaders, combining theory with practice and opening up to collaboration with the socio-economic environment.
