On Wednesday, during a Christmas meeting summarizing 2012 at Cereal Partners Poland Torun-Pacific, which Ewa Mes, the head of kuyavian-pomeranian voivodeship participated in, Wojciech B. Sobieszak presented the Copernican Library with a unique gift. Teresa Szymorowska, the director of the Copernican Library in Torun received a tome of works by the Father of Church - St Hieronymus, including his comments on the Old Testament. Each volume starts with a foreword by Erasmus of Rotterdam. The tome's significant value comes from the bibliophile rarity it contains: the ex-libris of its past owner, Michael Coletus, whose business activities in 16th century were linked to the town of Torun. Next year the library is going to celebrate its 90th anniversary.

Friends of The Nursing Home for Intellectually Disabled Children and Teenagers in Grab did not disappoint this year. During the IX University Charity Concert “Czas Nadziei” (the Time of Hope) the lecture theatre was full. The share earnings from the concert and the auction of artistic works were donated to the foundation A Heart for a Child, which raised funds for the institution in Grab ran by the Sisters of Saint Elizabeth.

Wojciech Sobieszak, the president of CPP, commented, next to prof. High School nr 10 in Torun celebrates its 20th anniversary. The anniversary ceremonialgala was held on 26th November 2012 at UMK assembly hall. As part of the celebrations a commemorative plaquewas unveiled in the school’s hall, showing the school’s patron, professor Stefan Banach. A church mass was also part of the celebrations. During the official gala in the university hall WojciechSobieszak, President of Torun-Pacific, the originator and the first President of High School nr 10 Friends Association, congratulated to the school’s headmaster and the teaching staff on excellent results in effective education and teambuilding.He also wished good luck to the school’s graduates looking for their first employment. Professor Lech Mankiewicz, an accomplished physicist and astronomer was the guest of honour at the ceremonial gala. He is also the head of the Centre of Theoretical Physics at the Polish Academy of Science, who has been cooperating with High School nr 10 in Torun for years.

Marek Kaliszek, the Chancellor of the Torun Lodge of BCC, as an introduction mentioned he had not expected the meeting to take place during such hectic for times, just a few days after the Polish Prime Minister’s statement on  current and future investments.

A special guest of the ceremonial inauguration of 2012/2013 academic year at the Nicholas Copernicus University in Toruń was Waldemar Pawlak, Vice-Premier and Minister of Economy. This year, the celebrations at UMK were of a special character by reasons of commencing the term of office by the new authorities of chancellor and dean levels. An important item of agenda was the ceremony of handing over the chancellor-insignia to Prof. Andrzej Tretyn. According to the tradition, the outgoing chancellor – Prof. Andrzej Radzimiński - gave the inaugural lecture. Among the persons invited to the inauguration ceremony, there were present, among others, some members of the parliament, authorities of the regional administration and Toruń, as well as representatives of the business sphere, amid them - Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President CPP Toruń-Pacific and Council Chairman of the Toruń Lodge of Business Centre Club.

Last week, after nearly one-year preparations, there took place an assessment of the Monthly Business Planning (MBP) process concerning the Polish and Baltic markets. The preparation procedure and the audit itself were carried out as part of the Nestle in Market (NiM) project. The auditors, Marion Dimitrievich and JP Holla, specializing just in this field, assessed positively our planning processes, granting the MBP Certificate to our company.

Apator SA, as the first Polish firm, has opened its activity in the Pomeranian Economic Zone at Ostaszewo. It has just joined the eleven Japanese firms which have been operating in the zone for several years. The ceremony of opening the production and research centre was attended by the members of parliament, self-governing authorities of the provincial, county and commune levels. On Saturday, the fellows from Lubicz celebrated the 135th anniversary of the local Voluntary Fire Brigade. On this occasion, Wojciech B. The automatic gates will help the firemen to get even more quickly to those who are in need of relevant aid and assistance.

Michał Kwiatkowski and Michał Gołaś, cyclists brought up by the Toruński Klub Kolarski Pacific (Cycling Club Pacific of Toruń), who will represent Poland at the Olympic Games in London, have received congratulations and wishes of successes in the Olympic contests from Wojciech B. Sobieszak, President CPP Toruń-Pacific. It is for nearly two decades, that the company has been supporting the cyclists of Toruń, sponsoring the amateurs from Cycling Club Pacific of Toruń. It was just in this club, that Gołaś and Kwiatkowski, before they went to professional groups, had polished their talents under the care and attention of trainer, Leszek Szyszkowski.

- That is the occasion worth celebrating – with undisguised joy and pride said Leszek Szyszkowski , the coach of Toruński Klub Kolarski Pacific (Cycling Club Pacific of Torun) on Tuesday, during the press conference organized to sum up good performance of club members during the Polish Road Championships organized in Jędrzejów. – We are coming home with a gold medal in junior category and two bronze medals in ‘orlik’ category. The success of Michał Gołaś, who used to be the club member and now rides in professional peloton, proves that the sports pyramid in Toruń operates perfectly.

Yesterday, 20th June, in Artus Hall in Toruń  during a grand gala, the list of laureates of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshal’s Award was announced. Those prestigious prizes were awarded to the eminent figures and outstanding teams representing thirteen various fields. In the Economy category the Marshal’s Award went to Wojciech B.Sobieszak, President of Cereal Partners Poland Toruń-Pacific, honoured for the overall achievements, and in recognition of the company’s contribution to the local community benefit. The application for President Sobieszak award was submitted by Marek Goliszewski, President of Business Centre Club.

Jose Lopez, Nestle SA Vice-President for Operations, visited on Wednesday, 6th June 2012, the CPP factories in Toruń and Lubicz as well as the Distribution Centre at Grębocin.  The visit proceeded effectively and its program included also some talks with employees, walk through the factory halls, tasting of products, and finally some “shopping”, i.e. visits to the retail outlets trading with Nestle breakfast products. The visit’s prestige was underlined by the fact that the guest was accompanied among others by Christi Strauss, CPW President, together with Jerome Jaton, CPW Vice-President for Operations, and Johnattan Pears, CPW Vice-President for Supply Chain. Nestle Polska was represented by David Anderson, Vice-Head for Operations.

This time, tropical Cracow was a venue for the meeting of CPW managers performing management of the cereal products’ markets of the Central Europe. The gathering was an exceptional one not only because of extreme temperatures prevailing in the south of Poland, but also because of the fact that Christi Strauss, just ending her managerial contract with the CPW group, officially said goodbye to the team of Central Europe.

On Tuesday we celebrated the great victory of our team, who took part in the challenge organized by Cereal Partners Worldwide for the teams who managed to reduce the time of production line’s changeover. Our team of ‘Road Runners’ of the TO2 production line – as they called themselves – managed to ‘release’ over 700 tons of production capacity. The success is owed to their efforts, consistency, and the commitment of the people working on TO2 line on a daily basis. Jarek Komorowski, Piotr Pokorski, Sławek Wiciński, Krzysztof Swinarski, Grzegorz Dziembowski and Arek Krzeminski were awarded with iPads in recognition of the top rank they achieved among the 13 teams from various parts of the world, who applied to the CPW Headquarters in Lausanne to participate in the challenge. The awards were distributed by Carol Oswin-Bateman from CPW, accompanied by Wojciech B. Sobieszak, the President of CPP.

On 4 and 5 January 2012 the Sales Division employees of CPP Torun-Pacific gathered in Warsaw to sum up year 2011. Wojciech B. Sobieszak, CPP President of the Board, discussed the events of 2011 on the Polish market, and the changes taking place on the other markets of the Central Europe Region.- In Poland we have not reached the sales volume we achieved in 2010 – said Sobieszak. – The whole Central Europe Region finishes 2011 with the result better than the one we attained 12 months ago.
